About The Project

SeaMatics is developing technology for the next generation of Photonic Integrated Circuits as distinct from semiconductor IC technology commonly used in the electronics we use every day. The project will develop a manufacturable materials platform that offers unique optoelectronic capabilities. Devices manufactured using these new materials will help develop new technologies in lighting, high speed communication networks, sensors and imaging. This work is being funded by the UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPSRC) and is being led by the University of Leeds in collaboration with Cambridge University and the University of Sheffield.
